Prime Minister Kosor meets EBRD president
ZAGREB, May 13 (Hina) - After opening the Croatia Investment Forum in Zagreb on Thursday, one day before an annual conference of the European Reconstruction and Investment Bank (EBRD) to be held in the Croatian capital, Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor held talks with EBRD President Thomas Mirow, who commended the organisation of the forum.
Kosor acquainted Mirow with the government's economic recovery programme, which Mirow described as impressive and as one of the most comprehensive programmes in the region.He also said that the programme should be given broad political support and be implemented quickly and efficiently.
Kosor reiterated that the programme would be fully implemented.
She said that today's forum provided an opportunity to take a deeper look at Croatia's economic potential so that it could become an investment-friendly country.
Speaking to reporters after the opening of the forum, Kosor said that entrusting Croatia with organising the EBRD annual conference was a sign of acknowledgement and support for the country, not only in economic recovery and development, but also in the completion of talks on EU membership.
Kosor said that the EBRD conference would also be attended by prime ministers from other Southeast European countries and that talks would be held with them on cooperation possibilities.
