Prime Minister meets Italian parliamentarian

ZAGREB, Sept 21 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor met in Zagreb on Tuesday with the speaker of the lower house of the Italian parliament, Gianfranco Fini.

Kosor and Fini expressed satisfaction with the two countries' relations and called for intensifying economic cooperation.

Kosor recalled a successful Croatian-Italian project in Krizevci, worth 4.5 million euros, and a joint investment in a factory manufacturing artificial fertilisers in Vukovar.

Kosor thanked Italy and its people for their support to Croatia on the road to the EU.

Fini said the Italian Parliament's Chamber of Deputies supported Croatia's EU membership bid, adding that Croatia's admission to the EU was in the interest of the entire Union.

He also said that the Italian Parliament would be among the first to ratify Croatia's EU accession treaty.
