Prime Minister Milanovic: I have come to hold talks and not to adopt joint conclusions that have no point

"I expect constructive talks, this is the basic reason why I have come today here while missing election campaigning. I have come to hold talks and not to adopt joint conclusions that have no point. We could easily accept the draft. If all countries undertake not to transfer migrants to other countries in this sequence without prior consent of the next in the sequence, then there is no risk for Croatia, as we are the fourth in this sequence " Milanovic said upon his arrival in Brussels before the summit began

 

The mini summit brings together Croatian Prime Minister Milanovic, Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov, Greek PM Alexis Tsipras, Hungarian PM Viktor Orban, Slovenian PM Miro Cerar, Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov as well as Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and European Council President Donald Tusk, European Parliament President Martin Schulz, Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn, UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres, and representatives of the European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the Member States of the EU (Frontex) and the  European Asylum Support Office.

 

Milanovic reiterated that the problem should be solved at the Greece-Turkey border and that it was the place where the influx of migrants should be halted.
