At the last session of his government on Thursday, caretaker Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic thanked all the ministers and citizens for their support to the government's work, adding that all the achievements in the past four years showed that they were a people's government.

Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic added that they are leaving the country to the next government in a much better state than they had found it in back in 2011.

He compared the situation his government had found on stepping into office to a plane flying with an empty cockpit and out of control, "in which the lives of passengers were not threatened, but it was very turbulent and unsafe."

"We have restored flight configuration and now the aircraft is at a cruising altitude and we've stopped negative trends... The country is again recording economic growth and all positive parameters..." Milanovic said.

He added that the latest European Commission reports had shown that Croatia's business confidence index, namely the business climate in Croatia, ranked first or second in Europe.

"Croatia is better today," Milanovic said, thanking all those who had supported his government over the past four years.

The outgoing government adopted a decision regulating the terms of members sitting on management and supervisory boards in public companies of strategic importance and where the state holds a majority stake, whereby temporarily extending their membership until the new government is formed and new members are appointed.
