Prime Minister Oreskovic pleased with EBRD summit in London
Croatian Prime Minister Tihomir Oreskovic, who attended an investment summit organised by the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London on Monday, said he was pleased that his messages were received well by potential investors.
"We had a very successful day. I think that we managed to communicate our main message and that is, what direction Croatia is going in. I had the opportunity to present our reform programme and to say that we are open to cooperation with investors. The feedback was very good," Prime Minister Oreskovic told Hina after the summit.
Oreskovic presented his government's strategic priorities and chief cross-border energy and infrastructure investment projects.
The prime minister conducted several bilateral meetings on the margins of the summit. He spoke with British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Philip Hammond and Minister of State for Trade and Investment Francis Maude. He also met with Bosnia and Herzegovina's Prime Minister Denis Zvizdic, Serbia's Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and EBRD President Suma Chakrabarti and First Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Philip Bennett.
During his talks with Zvizdic, there was mention of possible cross-border cooperation and strengthening economic ties.
Oreskovic once again confirmed support for Bosnia and Herzegovina to join the European Union (EU) and Zvizdic thanked him for that and asked for support during the accession process and invited his Croatian counterpart to an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Oreskovic and Zvizdic expressed interest in joint projects in agriculture, energy and tourism. There was talk on the migrant crisis and the joint conclusion was of the need for good communication and coordination between all countries faced with the crisis.
Oreskovic said that he had a brief meeting with Serbia's Prime Minister Vucic, a courteous talk focusing mostly on the migrant crisis.
Vucic described the talks with Oreskovic as "civil and substantial" and expressed hope that he would have the opportunity to receive him in Belgrade.
