Prime Minister receives German economy minister

ZAGREB, Nov 17 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor on Wednesday met German Economy and Technology Minister Rainer Bruederle, who conveyed greetings from German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Kosor thanked Germany for its strong and friendly support to Croatia on its European path, saying Croatia expected to wrap up its European Union entry talks and sign the accession treaty next year.

Bruederle said Germany had been supporting Croatia since it achieved independence and that the support did not stem only from their friendship, but also because Croatia was important in the European family.

Kosor and Bruederle talked about intensifying economic cooperation. Kosor said the Croatian government was determined to carry out its Economic Recovery Programme as well as combat corruption.

On this occasion, Bruederle and Croatian Economy Minister Djuro Popijac signed an agreement between the Croatian and German governments on including in Croatia's compulsory reserves its reserves of crude oil and oil products in Germany.
