Prime Minister receives New Zealand foreign minister
ZAGREB, Nov 22 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor met with New Zealand's Foreign Minister, Murray McCully, during his visit to Zagreb on Monday.
Kosor said that the 100,000-strong Croatian community in New Zealand served as a bridge between the two countries, adding that the excellent bilateral relations should continue to be advanced by promoting economic cooperation.
Speaking of the Croatian economy, Kosor presented about 30 investment projects, ranging from infrastructure to tourism, which are worth about 14 billion euros in all. She also spoke of the final stage of Croatia's EU membership process and the government's anti-corruption campaign.
McCully expressed support to the Croatian government in EU accession negotiations. He highlighted the need to intensify economic cooperation between the two countries, citing the possibility of lifting visa requirements to give an additional boost to trade.
McCully thanked the Croatian government for showing solidarity and offering support for the New Zealand miners trapped in the Pike River mine and for their families.
