Prime Minister Sanader congratulates Pahor on election victory

ZAGREB, Oct 1 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader on Wednesday spoke on the phone with the president of the Slovene Social Democrats, Borut Pahor, and congratulated him on his victory at the recent parliamentary elections, the Croatian government said in a statement.

Pahor thanked Sander for his congratulations. Both officials confirmed that good neighbourly relations were in the interest of Croatia and Slovenia.

Pahor is most likely to be appointed prime minister designate after his Social Democrats won 29 seats in parliament, one more than Prime Minister Janez Jansa's Slovene Democratic Party (SDS).

The official results of the Slovene parliamentary polls are expected to be released on 3 October.
