Registered unemployment rate for June falls to 16.1 pct

Croatia's registered unemployment rate in June 2015 fell by one index point on the month to 16.1 percent, the lowest rate in nearly six years, the national statistical office said on Thursday.

The last time unemployment was below 16.1% was in October 2009, when it was 15.6%, while the last time it was 16.2% was in July 2010.

In June 2015, registered unemployment fell month on month for the fourth straight month. In May 2015, it was 17.1%.

Year on year, registered unemployment in June 2015 was down 2.1 percentage points.

At the end of June 2015, 260,073 persons were registered with the Croatian Employment Service, down 5.6% on the month and 14.7% on the year. Today, the number of the registered jobless is 259,181.
