There are no new patients in Croatia. Plenkovic: We take all measures for the citizen security
Croatia's border police and other services are closely following the developments in connection with coronavirus in Italy which has in the meantime quarantined several regions, and the Croatian authorities are also ready to introduce additional measures to counter the outbreak, if necessary.
Croatia has to date 12 confirmed cases of patients who tested positive for COVID-19, and all of them are well, representatives of the national civil protection authority told a news conference in Zagreb on Sunday.
Those patients will be discharged from hospitals in Zagreb, Rijeka and Varazdin as soon as their tests for this novel virus become negative.
Health Minister Vli Beros said that there were no new patients, and currently 4,278 people in the country were covered by epidemiological measures.
The number of those diagnosed with this disease is on the rise in the neighbourhood, however, in Croatia the epidemiological situation is relatively calm, the minister added.
Doctor Alemka Markotic ifnomred the news conference that all the patients who had been hospitalised in Zagreb, Rijeka and Varazdin were well, and advised those at risk to contract the disease to avoid larger gatherings.
Interior Minister Davor Bozinovic said that the situation in Italy was serious.
We are following how much the measures Italy has taken are efficient. We are ready to propose new measures if necessary, he added.
