Two potential strategic partners interested in Uljanik, 3. Maj docks, says economy minister

Economy Minister Darko Horvat said on Thursday two serious potential strategic partners wished to carry out due dilligence in the Uljanik and 3. Maj shipyards and that they said they could come up with serious offers within five weeks.

Asked by the press before a cabinet meeting if that meant that it could by known by the end of January which one of them was interested and to what extent they would enter the shipyards, Horvat said both were seriously interested. "On what conditions and in which way, they will know in about five weeks."

Asked how many more minimum wages the two docks' workers could get, he said that in line with the law, one more minimum wage could be paid before possible bankruptcy proceedings were launched.

He said a minimum wage for November could be paid this month. "That's the last thing the government can ensure before possible bankruptcy."
