The Office of the Committee is an expert service of the Government of the Republic of Croatia which performs expert, administrative and other tasks related to relations with religious communities.
The work of the Office is defined by the Regulation on the Foundation of a Committee for Relations with Religious Communities and the Office of the Committee for Relations with Religious Communities ("Official Gazette" no. 126/2013 i 145/2013). Alongside the Head, a senior administrative official is also employed in the Office.
The Office performs the following expert work:
- work related to carrying out the established policies of protection of the rights of religious communities in the Republic of Croatia;
- cooperation with the competent ministries and other state administration bodies and other institutions in work to realise the rights of religious communities;
- monitoring international documents, preparing opinions and analyses related to the realisation of the rights of religious communities, as necessary for the work of the Commission for Relations with Religious Communities;
- keeping records of religious holidays of religious communities in the Republic of Croatia, and sending appropriate greetings in the name of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Commission for Relations with Religious Communities;
- preparing draft acts and monitoring the execution of the financial obligations of the Republic of Croatia towards religious communities established by the state budget of the Republic of Croatia;
- preparing and, in the name of the president of the Commission for Relations with Religious Communities, convening sessions of the Commission for Relations with Religious Communities.
