PM extends his best wishes for International Workers' Day
- 30.04.2014.
This year's International Workers' Day is being marked in a difficult economic situation, the worst since the 1991-1995 Homeland War. Years of irresponsible accumulation of debt and living above our means have brought us into a crisis and a situation that requires a major change in our behaviour and in the conduct of state affairs. The government has shown its readiness to do so, but such a project can succeed only if the entire society participates in it, he said in his message.
Many citizens have proved their readiness for temporary sacrifices and patience. All of us in decision-making positions must appreciate that and show to the citizens that their sacrifices are producing results. We will have new jobs, a better standard of living and a safe future among developed European societies only if we seize the opportunity before us and take our share of responsibility, Milanovic said.
