Albania fully supports Croatia on its path to NATO and EU
ZAGREB, March 3 (Hina) - Albania closely follows the development of the situation concerning Croatia's admission into the European Union and NATO and fully supports Croatia's joining Euro-Atlantic associations, Albanian Parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli said in Zagreb on Tuesday after talking to Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader.
Commenting on Croatia's NATO admission, Topalli said she hoped Croatia, together with Albania, would be admitted into the alliance at the next NATO summit in Strasbourg and Kehl.Croatian PM Sanader said he was confident the two countries would attend the next summit as full NATO members.
Sanader stressed that despite Slovene blockade, Croatia had continued to intensively meet the requirements from the EU accession process. He reiterated Croatia's position that bilateral issues should be separated from Croatia's EU entry talks, while outstanding border issues should be settled in accordance with the rule of law before an international judicial body.
Sanader and Topalli said that bilateral relations between Croatia and Albania were excellent, underlining their wish for stronger cooperation in all sectors of mutual interest, notably in the natural gas and power supply.
