Prime Minister Andrej Plenković attended the Summit of the Three Seas Initiative and the Business Forum in Bucharest.  He expressed Croatia's satisfaction, as a co-founder of the Three Seas Initiative, that topics such as security, energy, economic and transport cooperation between the member countries were discussed.

"Croatia is committed to cooperation within the Three Seas Initiative, both in the political sense and in concrete projects, which is reflected in the participation of numerous Croatian businessmen at tomorrow's Business Forum. This is not surprising, because a third of our trade is with member countries of this Initiative. Therefore, it is exceptionally important for deepening our cooperation,'' said Plenković.

He reminded that since last year's summit in Riga, Croatia had achieved its two strategic goals - entry into the Schengen area and the eurozone on the same day, January 1, and shortly thereafter joined the European Stabilization Mechanism.

"As one of the goals of the Three Seas Initiative is to strengthen the position of the member states within the European Union, we believe that by joining these two deeper integrations we can further contribute to strengthening the positions of the member states of the Initiative at the level of the European Council. Among other things, we will support Romania's ambitions to enter the Schengen area as soon as possible. Croatia will strongly advocate for it.''

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with today's opportunity to confirm once again solidarity with Ukraine, the victim of brutal Russian aggression.

He added that mutual support and help in these times when climate change threatens human lives was also discussed.

Finally, he pointed out that Croatia would continue to support energy and transport projects in the region.
