Croatia's exports surge almost 12 pct in Jan-Nov period
Croatia's commodity exports jumped by 11.7% in the first eleven months of 2015 compared to the corresponding period in 2014, while imports rose at a considerably lower rate, 6.6%, according to preliminary figures provided by the national statistical office (DZS) on Friday.
Thus, Croatia's exports totalled 80.55 billion kuna in the January-November period, and imports came to HRK 128.95 billion.
As a result, the deficit in the exchange of goods was 48.4 billion kuna, shrinking by 1.38% compared to the corresponding period in 2014.
Thus, the coverage of imports by exports rose by 2.9 percentage points to 62.5%.
The preliminary figures show that Croatia's exports to other members of the European Union rose by 15.4% to 53.08 billion kuna, while imports from the EU increased by 9.18% to 100.11 billion kuna.
Croatia's exports to countries outside the 28-strong EU went up by 5.2% to HRK 27.47 billion, while imports were reduced by 1.38% to 28.84 billion kuna.
