Croatian minister supports student protest against climate change

Environment Protection and Energy Minister Tomislav Coric on Friday welcomed a global protest staged by young people against climate change, and said that an Energy White Paper about Croatia's low carbon development would be put up for public consultation soon.

Coric said the draft white paper was being prepared and would soon be available for e-consultation.

He denied claims that Croatia was late in fulfilling the Paris Agreement obligations envisaging, among other things, the reduction of the greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030.

We are not late in preparing any document concerning energy and low carbon strategies. They will be adopted in a timely fashion, the minister said, welcoming the student protest as a good idea.
