Croatian PM, chief negotiator meet EU ambassadors

ZAGREB, June 13 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and the country's chief negotiator with with EU, Vladimir Drobnjak, on Friday held talks with ambassadors of EU member states in Croatia, and informed them of the current status of Croatia's EU entry talks and the country's priorities in the coming period, according to a statement issued by the government.

The talks focused on efforts Croatia is making to meet conditions for EU membership, with an emphasis on what has been done so far with regards the benchmarks for the opening and closing of the negotiation chapters, the statement said.

Sanader and Drobnjak underlined that the government planned to meet all remaining benchmarks and forward them to the European Commission by the end of this month.

Both the EU and the Croatian officials expressed satisfaction with the pace of entry talks, the statement said.
