Deputy PM Adlesic, Danish ambassador discuss Public Administration Reform Programme

ZAGREB, July 1 (Hina) - Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Djurdja Adlesic on Tuesday met Danish Ambassador Bern Kjeldsen to discuss bilateral cooperation, notably the Public Administration Reform Programme, the government's Public Relations Office said in a statement.

The first part of the program, which the government is implementing with Denmark's support, was completed and the second began in January, to last until mid-2010.

Public administration reform is a government priority, said Adlesic, stressing that the government ensured all the funds for the program this year too.

She announced that before the summer recess, the government would form a national council for the evaluation of state administration modernization. The council will comprise independent public administration experts, equally split between opposition and ruling deputies.

Ambassador Kjeldsen said he was happy the Croatian government recognized priority areas and was successfully implementing reforms, adding that Denmark would continue to support them.
