Labour minister says gov't will find way to pay out seniority bonuses

Labour Minister Mirando Mrsic said on Saturday the government would in the next several weeks find a way to pay out seniority bonuses in the state and public sector at a higher base rate, regardless of the doctors' union which is refusing to sign an agreement.

Asked about the framework agreement which is expected to increase the base rate for the payment of seniority bonuses in the state and public sector, Mrsic said the doctors' union notified the ministry it did not wish to sign the agreement without a protection clause, which the government deems unnecessary.

Commenting on the latest unemployment figures and expectations of seasonal employment, the minister said this year 12% more jobs would open for seasonal workers.
