Malenica: Digitisation and legislative framework to make judiciary more efficient

Justice and Public Administration Minister Ivan Malenica said on Tuesday that the ministry was working on boosting the efficiency of the judiciary and speeding up proceedings through digitisation and improving the legislative framework.

In addition to amending the relevant laws, such as the Civil Procedure Act, the ministry this year wants to address cases older than seven years, Malenica said at a virtual conference organised by the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), as carried by the organisation's press release.

By introducing new digital solutions, we will make communication with judicial bodies and proceedings faster and easier for everyone involved, Malenica said.

AmCham executive director Andrea Doko Jelušić said that the judiciary was a key topic for the further development of the Croatian Economy.

She said that after general recommendations AmCham would continue working on establishing a successful debt collection system with a focus on enforcement and bankruptcy law.

The use of artificial intelligence in the judicial system will be one of the additional topics that AmCham will deal with this year, Doko Jelušić underscored, as carried by AmCham.
