Prime Minister Kosor meets Italian foreign minister

ZAGREB, Sept 15 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor met at government headquarters on Wednesday with Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini, who confirmed Italy's support for Croatia's admission to the European Union.

Speaking of the pace of Croatia's EU entry talks, Kosor expressed confidence that Croatia would sign the accession treaty by the end of Hungary's EU presidency, and Frattini said that all conditions existed for the signing of the accession treaty in the spring of 2011.

The Croatian government is committed to supporting neighbouring countries on their Euro-Atlantic path, Kosor said, stressing that Croatia's membership of the EU would be a guarantee of peace and prosperity in this part of Europe.

Frattini expressed satisfaction with the latest changes to the Croatian Constitution referring to ethnic minorities.

Relations between the two countries are excellent, Kosor and Frattini said, adding that there was interest in intensifying the economic cooperation.
