We trust in our citizens' good judgment and we are confident many will get their jabs

Prime Minister and HDZ leader Andrej Plenković on Monday called on everyone who had not been vaccinated yet to do so as sufficient amounts of vaccine had been provided and vaccination was the only possible long-term response to the pandemic, and epidemiological measures were ancillary measures.

He reiterated that the vaccinated were practically protected because only a small percentage of those vaccinated had been infected, and an even smaller percentage had been hospitalised. The benefits of vaccination far outweigh any risks related to it, Plenković told reporters after a meeting of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) leadership.

Commenting on the decision of the government of the United Kingdom (UK) to lift epidemiological measures, he said they had a much greater number of vaccinated than Croatia or some other EU members.

"We'll see how it'll reflect on the epidemiological situation in the UK," he said.

Asked about the expiration of term of office of Supreme Court President Đuro Sessa, Plenković ruled out the possibility of a constitutional crisis and, noting that the third public call of the State Judicial Council was under way, said the matter would be discussed once the call ends.
